The Haddon Room...
...a majestic, bay-windowed room overlooking the Pavilion Gardens... ...decorated in imperial style with period furniture...
|
Decoration The Haddon room is one of our superior rooms, with large bay windows overlooking the Pavilion Gardens. Decorated in imperial style with period furniture, including a beautiful Chesterfield leather sofa, this room recalls the Victorian passion for exploration and discovery. Inspiration
The Haddon Room draws its inspiration from Haddon Hall, a 12th century fortified manor house near Bakewell, Derbyshire, one of the most spendid examples of medieval manor houses in the area, and famous for its Elizabethan terraced gardens which surround the house. Most recently, the setting for the feature film 'Pride and Prejudice', Haddon Hall is popular with visitors and is within a half hour drive of Buxton's Victorian Guest House. Find out more information about the history of Haddon Hall by visiting the website at www.haddonhall.co.uk. Information The Haddon Room is on the first floor of the guest house, accessed by two short flights of stairs. The room has a double bed, as well as a single bed. There is an ensuite bathroom with shower cubicle. A hair-dryer, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits are all provided in the room, and fresh milk, ironing board and iron are available on request.
